UDC Permit Any new residential dwelling, built in the City of Waukesha, requires a building permit. In addition, the builder must have State of Wisconsin certification as a residential builder. Each set shall contain a plan view for each floor of the dwelling and a cross sectional view showing all construction details. All plans shall be drawn to a scale of not less than 1/4" = 1'. 2 copies of a survey with the "wet seal", signed by the surveyor who performed the survey. The survey shall show the location of the proposed dwelling in relation to all prop- erty lines, all proposed building elevations, sidewalk eleva-tions and front set-back of adjoining dwellings (if existing). 1 copy of a survey showing the location of silt fencing and the required tracking pad (for erosion control purposes). This survey is to be attached to the completed erosion control permit application. 2 copies of heat loss calculations prepared according to State of Wisconsin requirements. A completed, signed Uniform Building Permit Application. The names of the Owner, Building Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Heating Contractor and Plumbing Contractor shall be listed, along with their license and/or certification numbers. The estimated building cost and all other requested information must be provided to avoid delays in processing your permit application. After your building plans have been reviewed by a City of Waukesha plan reviewer and approved, you will be notified that your plan has been reviewed and the amount of the permit fee. Before your permit can be issued, erosion control requirements must be in place and inspected for code compliance. Once building has commenced you must call for building inspections before covering any work. The City of Waukesha does not allow the use of "letters of indemnification or photographs in lieu of actual inspections by a City Inspector.
