In June 1997 Wisconsin Act 440 was passed which allows law enforcement agencies to share information with the community regarding convicted sex offenders who have been released from prison. Please remember that sex offenders have always lived and worked in the community once released from custody. This law now allows law enforcement agencies to share certain information about sex offenders with people in the community. These offenders are classified at one of three levels, depending on their dangerousness and the likelihood that they may reoffend. Law enforcement agencies then notify the community on a case by case basis depending on the level of risk assigned to an offender.

You are receiving this sex offender bulletin because this individual will be released from prison very soon and will be living and/or working in the community. This person will be closely monitored by probation and parole and does have rules of supervision which must be followed. It is important to note that this person is not wanted by the police at this time. This information is being provided to you since you may serve children or other vulnerable populations and need to know that this offender may pose a potential risk to the populations which you serve.

Please use care and discretion in sharing this sensitive information. Do not share this bulletin directly with children. Rather, share the information with parents or other concerned adults who may then explain the information to children and review safety tips with them.
