Department of Community Development Planning Division
Department of Community Development Planning Division
The City of Waukesha first adopted a zoning ordinance in 1923. The goal and purpose of the ordinance was to "protect residence sections, encourage home ownership, prevent undue concentration ... increase business and industrial efficiency, direct the building of the City and the development of all property along orderly and economic lines, and thereby promote the public health, safety, comfort, convenience, prosperity and general welfare." This is still the goal of the Planning Department today.
| The information in this site will help you navigate through the development process required by the City of Waukesha for all types of development. All items on the left require Plan Commission approval before any action can be taken. These materials will help you prepare complete and informative submittals, and avoid costly delays due to an incomplete understanding about the development process. All submittals must be in electronic form or have seven full copies and seven reduced sets of all materials. |
