The City of Waukesha Fire Department Special Services Team consists of 34 of our members that are trained to a minimum of 40 hours of technician level training in High Angle Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Trench Rescue, Emergency Building Shoring, Collapse Rescue and Hazardous Materials. We train on these disciplines on a quarterly basis to remain current for the NFPA and Department of Commerce standards.

We provide Technical Rescue Service for 16 communities in Waukesha County and are contracted by Waukesha County to provide Hazardous Materials response to the entire County. Members of our team are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

The City of Waukesha Fire Department Special Services Team is headquartered out of Fire Station 5. Though these types of emergencies are low frequency they are very high risk. That is why we train so frequently to remain at a high level of proficiency for our customers and the tax payers of the City of Waukesha.
