CEMETERY MANAGER

The City of Waukesha is seeking the next leader for the City’s Prairie Home Cemetery. The selected candidate for this position will provide the overall leadership for the cemetery operations, including all financial and administrative functions. The position is responsible for the strategic direction and performance management of the department, including completing such tasks as preparing the annual budget and capital improvement plan, master planning, overseeing the daily operations, sales and marketing. The best applicants will be able to provide outstanding employee and customer relations and maintain consistently positive relationships with the area’s funeral homes. Applicants should have a high level of familiarity with cemetery financial operations. The demonstrated ability to think creatively about cemetery operations is an added plus.

City-owned Prairie Home Cemetery was established in 1849, and is approximately 70 acres with 23,000 interments. Besides traditional burials there are a number of mausoleums, a natural burial prairie, and numerous cremation options. The grounds feature a mature landscape and hundreds of trees.

Preferred Qualifications:

The best applicants will have four or more years of cemetery operations management, or management in a related field with a staff and operations of a similar size and scope. Senior managers or assistant managers in similarly sized organizations will also be considered. Highly qualified applicants will have a four-year degree with course work in business administration, pubic administration and/or cemetery management. A demonstrated ability to handle complex financial systems and experience in providing high quality customer relations is required. Advanced marketing skills, including the use of social medial applications would also contribute to success in the position.

Salary Range starting at $70,247.00.

EMS QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR
FIRE DEPARTMENT

This is a professional part-time position (approximately15 hours per week).  Duties include collecting, organizing, monitoring and distributing information related to quality and process improvement functions for emergency medical services to deliver a comprehensive quality assurance program. 

Required:  Valid State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License with minimum of five (5) years experience in emergency care, or State of Wisconsin Paramedic License with minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience (combination of Nurse/Paramedic preferred). 

Required Certifications/Licensures/Registrations (must all be current and valid):  State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse or State of Wisconsin Paramedic, CPR, ACLS, PALS Provider Certifications, BTLS preferred, Emergency Services Instructor Certification (obtained within time specified by department), valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with excellent driving record.

Preferred:  Experience in the management of an EMS education program.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) EDUCATOR
FIRE DEPARTMENT

This is a professional, part-time position (approximately 22 hours per month).   Duties involve the planning, designing, monitoring, evaluation, coordination and implementation of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) educational programs for the City of Waukesha Fire Department.

Required:  Valid State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License with a minimum of five (5) years experience in emergency care, or State of Wisconsin Paramedic License with a minimum of five (5) years progressive experience ((combination of Nurse/Paramedic preferred).

INSTRUMENTATION/ELECTRONIC/SCADA TECHNICIAN
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems using programming through programmable logic controllers (PLC) for the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations. May require call backs for emergency situations.

Required:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record.  Experience involving maintenance, calibration, programming and repair of real-time process control systems in an industrial setting. 

Preferred:  Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or related field.  Five (5) or more years of experience in the water/wastewater industry with demonstrated knowledge of ladder logic and networked HMI applications.

ADULT SOFTBALL COORDINATOR        
PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY

General Summary: The Adult Softball Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and daily supervision of the WPRF Adult Softball Leagues held at Saratoga Complex and Buchner Parks.

Reporting Relationships: Under the direction of the Sports Coordinator, performs coordination duties for the Adult Softball program.  This coordinator oversees score keepers and   umpires (in conjunction with the head umpire).

Specific Accountabilities:

1.     Coordinates assigned pre-season activities relating to Adult Softball leagues, including assisting with game scheduling and scorekeeper scheduling.

2.     Responsible for inventory of softball supplies needed at Saratoga Complex.

3.     Supervises Saratoga Softball Complex during all league games, including opening and closing complex, continually evaluating games and staff, promoting a fun, safe environment for all games, enforcing all park and program rules. Periodically observes softball games held at Buchner Park.

4.     Follows procedures for formal protests and follows throughout with Sports Coordinator.

5.     Ensuring general safety of all participants by responding to emergencies, documenting accidents and following emergency action plans (EPA) for weather related incidents.

6.     Will coordinate with grounds maintenance staff to determine whether games are playable regarding weather/grounds conditions.  Will not perform any grounds maintenance on the diamonds.

       7.  Schedules and coordinates rainout dates.

8.     Organizes and distributes awards for end of season.

9.     Assists with scheduling of and supervision of Softball City Tournament.

10.  Maintains WPRF Adult softball website including standings and weather updates.  Updates WPRF Information line as needed.  

11.  Completes payroll requirements on a timely basis for scorekeepers and any other required staff.

12.  Maintains files of correspondence, forms, records, reports, and other materials in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

13.  Completes end of season report.

14.  Performs other tasks as requested or needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1.     Must be 21 years of age or older.

2.     Experience in and/or knowledge of adult softball programming.

3.     Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

4.     Ability to communicate, be courteous and cooperate with other staff and the public.

5.     Strong organizational skills.

6.     Ability to operate computer software and other office equipment.

7.     Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)

8.     Enthusiastic towards adults sports programming.

Required Hours/Rate of Pay:

       1. Pre/Post season planning hours not to exceed 40 hours.

2.     Season hours require Monday – Friday, 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., for 16 weeks at the Saratoga Adult Sports Complex, approximately 400 hours, April 20 through August. Some weekends hours may be required for rainout scheduling. Total season hours are not to exceed 600 hours. 

3.     Rate of Pay:  $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

The City of Waukesha Board of Police and Fire Commissioners is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer/Recruit.  Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, possess valid Wisconsin Driver's License, have no felony convictions, be certified by the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board, or be eligible for certification, or have a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited university, college or technical school. Applicants who do not meet the minimum age or college credit requirements, at the time of application, must meet the minimum age and college credit requirements within six months of the due date for filing applications.  In the event a conditional offer of employment is made prior to the end of the six-month period of time, the applicant must meet the minimum age and college credit requirements in order to accept the offer of employment.  Applicants must pass a physical agility test, written examination, oral interviews, thorough background investigation, medical exam including a drug screen and a psychological assessment prior to the time of hiring.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN V
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Responsible for major maintenance program with special emphasis on electrical duties as allowed by a Journeyman’s License, broad scope of sub-professional engineering assignments of considerable difficulty requiring advanced knowledge of computer-aided drafting, surveying, construction supervision and inspection.

Required:  Associate’s Degree with major course work in a related field and eight (8) years of experience in public works construction and/or maintenance with emphasis in electrical practices, drafting, surveying or equivalent.  Must possess or obtain a valid Journeyman’s License within six (6) months of hire.  Valid Driver’s License with an excellent driving record.
