Police Officer Recruit

The City of Waukesha Board of Police and Fire Commissioners is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer/Recruit.Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, possess valid Wisconsin Driver's License, have no felony convictions, be certified by the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board, or be eligible for certification, or have a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited university, college or technical school. Applicants who do not meet the minimum age or college credit requirements, at the time of application, must meet the minimum age and college credit requirements within six months of the due date for filing applications.  In the event a conditional offer of employment is made prior to the end of the six-month period of time, the applicant must meet the minimum age and college credit requirements in order to accept the offer of employment.  Applicants must pass a physical agility test, written examination, oral interviews, thorough background investigation, medical exam including a drug screen and a psychological assessment prior to the time of hiring.

Completed application packets must be returned to the City of Waukesha Police Department in person by midnight on July 5, 2013. Salary: $54,305.80 - $67,245.43 per year

Technician V – Administrative Management

Under the general direction of the Director of Public Works and City Engineer performs professional work related to contract administration and programs for solid waste and recycling with considerable independent judgment. Will exercise general supervision and training of staff at the Recycle (Drop-off) Center. Shall manage the City's Solid Waste, Recycling and Composting Program and Contracts, coordinating with Waukesha County as necessary. Shall be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and develop clear and comprehensive reports and correspondence. Must act as staff liaison and coordinate the gathering of departmental promotional materials as part of the Department Marketing Program. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities of others. Manages customer service related functions addressing citizens, visitors, and employees questions and concerns. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, powerpoint and other newsletter publishing software. An Associates Degree with major course work in a related field and eight years of experience or a Bachelors Degree and four years of experience is required.

Clerk Steno III
Building Inspection Division
Community Development Department

Performs varied clerical duties in the preparation, entry and maintenance of department administrative operations including schedules, citations and various building correspondence. Must be able to work in a very fast paced atmosphere. Previous construction office experience preferred. Must type 60 wpm. (Test will be administered) Working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations affecting the City of Waukesha a plus.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate Degree with major course work in business with 3 years experience which includes 12 months of stenographic experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Parking Enforcement Agent - Part Time

Monday-Friday 1:45 a.m-5:30 a.m., enforces parking regulations, special assignments including transportation of items during duty hours. Agent wears uniform prescribed by the Chief and furnished by the City. Must have a valid Wisconsin driver's license and an excellent driving record. Responsible for minor maintenance of vehicle and reporting required maintenance. MUST complete an application.
