INSPECTOR – PROPERTY MAINTENANCE
BUILDING INSPECTION

Perform interior and exterior inspections of residential and commercial properties for compliance with property maintenance, occupancy, sanitation, infestation, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, life safety, habitability, compliance with City building and zoning codes, the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code and the International Building Code.

Required:  High school graduation or equivalent plus at least 2 years of additional technical training with courses in building construction, electrical, mechanical or structural engineering, supplemented by at least five (5) years of journey level experience in building trades, architectural field, engineering field, construction supervision or management and experience in performing property inspections or equivalent combination of training and experience.  Ability to maintain accurate records, collect evidence and provide legal testimony, prepare and process reports, establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively with people from all cultural, educational and socioeconomic backgrounds.  Must have a valid Driver’s License and an excellent driving record.

Preferred:  Previous code enforcement and/or building inspection experience, certifications such as the State of WI UDC-Construction Inspector, UDC-HVAC Inspector, UDC-Electrical Inspector, UDC-Plumbing Inspector and Commercial Building Inspector, ICC Fire Inspector I, ICC Fire Inspector II. 

Salary:  $69,599-$76,714

MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II
STREET DEPARTMENT

Performs public works construction to include landscaping, street, sanitary and storm sewer maintenance, and snow removal with 26000 LB single axle truck with plow and wing.  May work in confined spaces. 

Required:  High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years experience in public works construction.  Commercial Drivers License with ABC endorsements (N preferred) with excellent driving record.  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.  Must successfully complete physical to include drug screen.

Hourly rate:  $25.15

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) EDUCATOR
FIRE DEPARTMENT

This is a professional, part-time position (approximately 22 hours per month).   Duties involve the planning, designing, monitoring, evaluation, coordination and implementation of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) educational programs for the City of Waukesha Fire Department.

Required:  Valid State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License with a minimum of five (5) years experience in emergency care, or State of Wisconsin Paramedic License with a minimum of five (5) years progressive experience ((combination of Nurse/Paramedic preferred). 

Required Certifications/Licensures/Registrations (must all be current and valid):  State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse or State of Wisconsin Paramedic, CPR, ACLS, PALS Certifications, BTLS preferred, Emergency Services Instructor Certification (obtained within time specified by department), valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with excellent driving record.

Preferred:  Experience in the management of an EMS education program.

AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC
STREET DEPARTMENT

Performs skilled maintenance and repair of all City automobiles, trucks and other automotive equipment. 

Required:  High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years experience and certification as a journeyman mechanic.  Must possess and maintain a commercial driver’s license with ABC endorsements and have an excellent driving record.  Must provide own hand tools.  Preferred:  Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification.

Hours:  3:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Salary:  $25.86-$27.48 per hour
