GARDENER
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY

Grounds maintenance work primarily in the care of plant and flower material in the City's parks and properties including but not limited to: planning, planting, transplanting, and maintaining flowers, turf and other ornamental plant material.  Performs all aspects of grounds maintenance including mowing, snow plowing and trash collection.  May assist in facility maintenance including but not limited to; athletic fields, tennis courts, playground equipment, ice rinks, toboggan runs, and fencing.

Required:  High school graduation or equivalent (related Associates Degree or higher preferred) plus two years of professional grounds and/or greenhouse maintenance experience, including experience in the operation of heavy equipment, or equivalent combination of training and experience.  Commercial driver’s license with B & C endorsements within 6 month of hire and an excellent driving record.  Secure and maintain a Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (Category 3).  Ability to pass a written exam assessing knowledge and perform heavy physical tasks (lift and carry up to 50 lbs).  Physical and drug test required.

Hourly rate:  $25.16

AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC
STREET DEPARTMENT

Performs skilled maintenance and repair of all City automobiles, trucks and other automotive equipment. 

Required:  High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years experience and certification as a journeyman mechanic.  Must possess and maintain a commercial driver’s license with ABC endorsements and have an excellent driving record.  Must provide own hand tools.  Preferred:  Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification.

Hours:  3:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Salary:  $25.86-$27.48 per hour

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN V
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Responsible for major maintenance program with special emphasis on electrical duties as allowed by a Journeyman’s License, broad scope of sub-professional engineering assignments of considerable difficulty requiring advanced knowledge of computer-aided drafting, surveying, construction supervision and inspection.

Required:  Associate’s Degree with major course work in a related field and eight (8) years of experience in public works construction and/or maintenance with emphasis in electrical practices.   Must possess or obtain a valid Journeyman’s License within six (6) months of hire.  Valid Driver’s License with an excellent driving record.

Salary:  $68,693-$79,874

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
SEASONAL LABORER

June thru August – 2 positions open

The City of Waukesha Wastewater Plant is in need of summer workers to do basic grounds keeping that would include mowing and trimming, building cleaning, painting, and other miscellaneous tasks.  Required:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Must be 18 years of age. Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record.  Preferred: Student in the field of environmental studies.
