Community Development Block Grant ProgramThe City Of Waukesha Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program (HRAP), administered by the Community Development Department, offers financial assistance for repair and improvement of homes located within the City. To view members of the current HRAP board, click here. The Waukesha County Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)funds the program. To view members of the current CDBG board, click here. To qualify for assistance, the property needs to be owned and occupied by families or individuals eligible by annual income to participate in the CDBG program and who are not able to secure financing from a conventional lending source such as a bank, credit union or other savings institution. Assistance is provided in the form of low or no interest improvement loans that are secured by a mortgage to the City. We are seeking eligible residences that qualify for home rehabilitation that reduces lead hazards in the home. We are targeting housing built before 1978, where children under the age of 6 reside or spend a significant amount of time. There are also income requirements that will be verified for entry into the program.
